ABOUT ME!
I was studying for a degree in Creative Writing when I accidentally became an artists' model! I worked internationally while writing magazine articles about solo travel and adventure, and planning more modelling tours from my hostel dorm.
After blowing the whistle on a dangerous photographer (who was jailed) I began to look into what more I could do to help freelancers in creative industries stay safe in a pre #metoo world. I soon found that most self defence classes focused on physical fighting- barely scratching the surface of what else was possible, so I developed a new approach. I have appeared in mainstream media as a spokesperson and offer talks at smaller events on three main subjects:
- How to travel solo and find empowerment through adventure
- Urban Exploration: virtual tours of abandoned locations
- Self defence and combat psychology (aka Armour for Life)
I have recently been working as a researcher for one of the most popular true crime podcasts online and as a freelance writer, I now specialise in travel, film, and self defence/women's rights. Don't be put off if you'd like me to cover something different; I love to 'find the story' in any subject!

As a B-movie and sea monster nerd, it was only a matter of time before I wrote a book about monster movies! "Movie Monsters of the Deep" is available through Amazon or in bookstores, and appearing in a ridiculous monster movie is now one of my life goals!
